Maryland pays percentages of the federal credit, with the amount varying based on income.

The full federal amount is set at $1,600 per child, while Maryland adds 32% for those making under $30,000 a year.

A $20 million class-action lawsuit will pay out former employees of Talen Energy Corporation.

The power and infrastructure company agreed to the settlement after a lawsuit alleged they reducedpensionbenefits for terminated employees, violating the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, ERISA.

The company did not admit wrongdoing, however, class members who were enrolled in the Talen EnergyRetirementPlan between June 1, 2015, and December 5, 2019, are eligible to file a claim.

In the wake of a databreachin 2022 compromising the personal information of its employees, Five Guys has reached a settlement agreement, agreeing to pay $700,000 to resolve a class action lawsuit.

The lawsuit, stemming from allegations that thefast-foodchain failed to adequately safeguard its employees from cyber threats,claimedthat Five Guys could have prevented the breach by implementing “reasonable” cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive information.

Approximately 38,000 employees were impacted by the data breach.

While denying any wrongdoing, Five Guys opted to settle the suit by agreeing to the $700,000 payout, as reported byBloomberg Law.
