Pokemon Go: Stakataka Raid Guide (2)

Stakataka will be a difficult Pokemon to defeat, so you will want to make sure that you are attempting this Raid with the help of other Pokemon Go Trainers. For this specific Raid, it's recommended that you go into it with a group of at least three to four players.

That being said, if your Raid group is lacking experience and powerful Pokemon, you will want to attempt this Raid with a larger group. Even if you are battling with an experienced group, it's best to coordinate as large of a group as possible, allowing you to quickly and easily defeat Stakataka.

You will want to make sure you Mega Evolve or Primal Revert a Pokemon you are battling with for this Raid if possible.

Doing so will power-up specific attack types for both you and your allies.

Pokemon Go: Stakataka Raid Guide (3)

Stakataka is a Rock and Steel dual-type Pokemon, giving it a large array of resistances and weaknesses on the battlefield.

Unfortunately, due to Stakataka's specific dual-typing, this Pokemon has several resistances to different types of attacks. This includes Poison, Flying, Normal, Bug, Dragon, Fairy, Ice, Psychic, and Rock-type attacks, all dealing reduced damage to Stakataka.

Fortunately, there are a handful of attack types that you will be able to take advantage of in this Raid battle due to Stakataka's vulnerabilities. This includes a weakness to Water-type attacks and a double-weakness to Ground and Fighting-type attacks.

Although Water-type attacks are super-effective against Stakataka, you will want to use Fighting or Ground-type attacks if possible.

These are the strongest attacks against Stakataka, dealing more damage than any other attack type.

In the case of this Raid, this means using Pokemon with powerful Fighting or Ground-type attacks. These attacks will deal the most damage against Stakataka, making them the optimal choice for this Raid battle.

You will want to use either Ground or Fighting-type Pokemon with attacks that match their type.

This will allow them to benefit from Same Type Attack Bonus, increasing the damage of these attacks.
