Slow Cooker Turkey Legs

CookingSlow Cooker Turkey Legscame about as part of my obsession for saving money on grocery shopping and getting Dominic to constantly cut up my poultry for me.

I love buying a lot of whole turkeys after Christmas when they are discounted down. Last Christmas I can’t remember how many I bought, but it must have been at least 5 of them.

I could see the shock horror look on Dominic’s face as to how many turkeys I had in my hands.

It is nice to have loads of turkey outside of Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you separate them into turkey legs, turkey wings and turkey crowns then you can freeze them separately and then cook them as you need them.

Then load the turkey legs into the slow cooker for some easy meal prep like we are showing you how to do today.

Slow Cooker Barbecue Turkey Legs

I love cooking new kitchen gadget recipes with the kids in the Milner kitchen. When I was planning slow cooker barbecue turkey legs the plan was that they would do it.

It would be fun for them to cover their hands in barbecue sauce and toss the barbecue sauce all over the turkey leg.

As you can see, they had great fun.

Even better this is just how simple it is to make slow cooker turkey legs at home with barbecue sauce.

Your turkey legs cook in the barbecue sauce and it stops the turkey from being dry.

Slow Cooker Pulled Turkey Legs

Once your slow cooker turkey has cooked, the job is to shred it. To shred all the meat from the turkey until you have beautiful pulled turkey.

You can then load it onto a large plate and then use it for salads, potlucks, flatbreads or even load it into pasta or rice dishes.

Slow cooker pulled turkey is that ideal meal prep food that has a zillion uses.
