Ingredients for Homemade Bath Bomb Recipe

1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup citric acid
1/2 cup Epsom salts
essential oil (see uses below)
3 tsp. coconut oil
Soap Dye Coloring or mica powder (optional I did not use any)

1. Gather all the ingredients. Place all the dry ingredients in a bowl with the coconut oil. Mix all together thoroughly.

2. Add essential oil. I make plain bath bombs then add essential oils right before I am going to use them. But if you are giving as a gift, put oils in this step. Add coloring to desired color. Mix with the a whisk for a unified color. These smell wonderful with just the coconut fragrance from oil.

3. Spray about 10 sprays of water and mix. Keep doing this until it is the mixture starts to hold its shape. Add water gradually or a fizzy mess will occur. If you don’t have a spray bottle use a small dropper to add the water a little at a time.

4. Once this mixture is a little sticky place larger amounts in the molds and squeeze together until snapped close. I found this clear ornament to make pretty round bath bombs. There are tons of molds to choose from. Tap a spoon all around the mold to loosen it. Boom you have a round bath bomb.

Tip: If you don’t have a fancy mold, just us a lined muffin tin. Wait until they are dry before you pop them out of the muffin tin.

5. This is the hardest part, wait. Yes wait up to 24-48 hours before you move them. It really depends on how dry it is to how fast they will dry. Then wrap up to give as gifts or place by your tub and add your essential oils when it is time for a bath. Enjoy!
